Warranty & Consumer Rights (Ireland)
This page explains warranty handling and statutory consumer rights for vaping hardware sold in Ireland. It is intended for adult customers (18+) and focuses on technical assessment, conformity, and safe handling of electronic products.
1) Warranty Duration & Timelines
Manufacturer warranty (typical range): For regulated mods and pod systems, manufacturer warranties commonly range from 90 days to 6 months, depending on the brand and product category. Warranty coverage is limited to manufacturing-related faults and does not cover consumable wear or misuse.
Statutory rights (Ireland): Your consumer remedies for faulty goods can apply for up to six years from the date you receive the goods in Ireland, depending on the nature of the fault and the product’s expected durability. Statutory rights apply regardless of any manufacturer warranty period.
For Ireland-specific guidance on faulty goods, remedies, and time limits, visit the official CCPC resource: CCPC – Faulty Goods (Ireland).
2) Statutory Consumer Remedies (Ireland)
Under Irish consumer law, goods must be:
- Of satisfactory quality
- Fit for purpose
- As described at the time of purchase
If a product is faulty or not in conformity, remedies may include repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund depending on circumstances and timing. For example, the CCPC describes stronger short-term refund rights for faults identified within the first 30 days of receiving the goods.
3) Consumables & Exclusions (Pods, Coils, Tanks)
Coils, pods, and seals are consumables and are subject to normal wear. Performance changes due to usage (e.g., coil degradation, residue build-up, seal fatigue, battery ageing) are not considered manufacturing defects.
For hygiene and safety reasons, opened e-liquid products cannot be returned unless faulty.
4) Diagnostic Procedure Before Submitting a Claim
Before opening a warranty request, please complete a basic diagnostic check. Many reported issues are operational or maintenance-related rather than manufacturing faults.
- Clean pod/510 contacts and check for condensation or liquid residue
- Confirm correct coil seating and ensure the coil was properly primed
- Check charging cable and power source (avoid damaged cables)
- Where possible, test with an alternative pod/coil
Internal troubleshooting: Please review our technical diagnostic page before submitting a warranty claim: Technical Troubleshooting Guide.
5) DOA (Dead on Arrival) – 48-Hour Reporting Window
DOA policy: If a coil, pod, or accessory is non-functional immediately on first use (dead on arrival), please report it within 48 hours of delivery. After this window, issues are generally assessed as wear, setup, or operational factors unless clear evidence indicates a manufacturing fault.
To help us verify DOA claims, keep the item and provide clear photos/video showing the issue.
6) Proof of Purchase, Serial Number & Original Packaging
To process a warranty assessment, we require proof of purchase (order number or receipt). For many brands, the manufacturer may also require:
- Original product packaging
- Serial number (S/N) from the box
- Scratch & Check / security code (if present)
Please retain the original packaging and any security label details. In many cases, manufacturers will not process warranty requests without the box serial number or verification code.
7) How to Submit a Warranty Request
To initiate a warranty assessment, provide:
- Order number
- Product name and variant (if applicable)
- Clear description of the fault and when it occurs
- Photos or a short video demonstrating the issue (recommended)
- Confirmation the device has not been modified
Some products may require inspection before a resolution can be determined.
8) Safety & WEEE Disposal (Ireland)
If a device shows signs of overheating during charging, battery swelling, visible battery wrap damage, unusual odour, or persistent auto-firing behaviour, discontinue use immediately.
Damaged electronic devices and batteries should be disposed of through appropriate WEEE channels in Ireland and local recycling guidance.
